The Eastern Asturian Coast
Our excursion begins by crossing the Villaviciosa estuary to reach the picturesque and unique Tazones. After a first contact with the eastern coast of Asturias, we visited the old Puebla de Maliayo, to learn about the specific weight that cider has in Asturian cultural identity, and to follow the first steps of Charles I in Spain.
Our next stop will be in the fishing village of Lastres, a balcony to the Cantabrian Sea and the coastal mountains, where we will take a walk through its steep streets until we reach the harbor of the town.
Even on the coast, the mountains in Asturias are always very present: crossing the council of Colunga and ascending the Sueve mountain range ramps we will reach the most splendid of Asturian viewpoints, the Fitu viewpoint, from where we can observe both the coast and the peaks of Picos of Europe, if visibility allows us.
We then head to the beautiful and historic village of Ribadesella where will have free time to enjoy local cuisine. After lunch (not included), will take a walk to the viewpoint of La Guía chapel, to observe one of the cultural landscapes of Spain.
